Our Community Engagement

From employing and buying locally, to providing up-to-date construction skills to local people, sponsorship of local sports teams or by monetary donations and publicity support; Applebridge’s commitment to the regions we serve is driven by our passion to make a difference.

Engaging in projects and initiatives local to our offices is very important to us as we demonstrate our commitment to our communities as well as our team members and their families.

Supporting our clients in their communities is critical to every project we undertake, as is understanding how and why buildings and spaces will be used by individuals to ensure we add social value and ensure projects make a difference where it matters most.

Employing local people

Supporting local education and training, as well as our own recruitment sees us engaging with local schools and training providers across the North East and Yorkshire to embed skills and raise aspirations.

Committed to upholding key trades across the evolving construction industry is key to our future success. We invest heavily in numerous local initiatives as well as our live site construction training, which is aimed at improving the skills in the area and raising the standard of the industry’s working practices where we work.

Supporting local charities

We have supported many worthy campaigns over the years as part of our ongoing initiatives to give something back to those in need across the UK as well as local charities close to the company’s heart. Our charitable donations have included: local Middlesbrough boy, Finley Ingles (5), who needed to raise funds to travel to America for life saving laser treatment, Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice, CLIC Sargent, Daisy Chain, CLT Gift Giving, St Oswald’s Hospice and Remembering Rebecca.

Each year, employees have the opportunity to put forward charitable causes that they believe in and the whole company gets involved in a range of activities to support the chosen charities and improve the quality of life, facilities and opportunities available across the UK.

Alongside our commitment to supporting individuals and charities, we have also supplied equipment to local grassroots sport via the donation of cricket equipment and provision of football strips, as well as sponsoring charity sports fundraisers.

As a business, we believe strongly in the ethical role we play in supporting those in need, or areas less fortunate. Keep an eye on our news section as we continue our involvement in local events and campaigns; regenerating the regions we work in and supporting the people within them.

Boosting the local supply chain

We work hard to build and underpin communities and the local economy, and look to partner with key suppliers and partners locally wherever possible to boost the local supply chain.

We proactively support SMEs in the areas in which we operate and highly value our working relationships with local sub-contractors across a variety of specialist areas.
