Keepmoat Homes is constructing 164 new homes, including 62 affordable units, at Little Maltby Farm, Ingleby Barwick. The client required full infrastructure and groundworks delivery across a complex, phased site bordered by existing housing.

Caddick required a new Section 278 roundabout to form the primary access route to a major new distribution warehouse development for Amazon. The works were located on the busy Queen Elizabeth Way, a live highway carrying high volumes of northbound and southbound traffic, with a key cycleway and footpath running directly through the site. The challenge was to deliver critical highway infrastructure safely, while maintaining traffic flow, pedestrian and cyclist access, and meeting programme constraints.

Costain is delivering the A1 Birtley to Coalhouse improvement scheme, which includes widening the A1 and replacing a bridge structure over the East Coast Mainline. To progress this major upgrade, the Allerdene Burn watercourse needed to be safely diverted, all within a severely restricted working area bordered by the live railway, the A1 embankment and the existing burn. Strict temporary works requirements and a tight 24-week programme added further complexity.
