Their challenge:

Located in Bradford and headed by Keepmoat Homes, work commenced in August 2016 on this development. Applebridge negotiated the project due to the complexity of the site, which had site levels with a 70m change in elevation.

Our solution:

A 50,000m3 cut and 70,000m3 fill operation was carried out to establish proposed ground levels, with retaining walls up to 8m high constructed to achieve the new ground levels. Applebridge heavily assisted the client at the design stage with VE to allow what was an otherwise unviable project to come within budget. Scope of works included:

• Construction of 292 homes
• Construct full infrastructure works, i.e. all deep drainage, attenuation system, road infrastructure
• Extensive deep drainage
• Retaining walls
• Balancing ponds
• All earthworks

The results:

Work continues on this £16m project, with excellent progress being made to date.
